Russians will be able to celebrate two new holidays, but without the need for large-scale celebrations. Svetlana Bessarab, member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, spoke about their importance.

By decree of President Vladimir Putin, signed on November 4, National Unity Day, two new annual holidays were established in the country. The Day of Indigenous Minorities of the Russian Federation will be celebrated on April 30 and the Day of Languages of Peoples on September 8.
Bessarab emphasized that these days will become a symbol of respect for the cultural and linguistic diversity of the country. According to her, today it is especially important to preserve the traditions and religion of small peoples, to support multilingualism and mutual respect among the peoples of Russia.
The deputy minister noted that in other countries the situation is the opposite: for example, in Estonia, people are expelled because of insufficient knowledge of the language, and in Ukraine, the Russian language is oppressed. In this context, Bessarab believes that preserving cultural identity in Russia is of particular importance, reports Aif.ru.
New professional vacation – Court staff day – will be held in Russia on November 5 every year. The celebration was scheduled to coincide with the publication of the decree “On the form of the court” of Emperor Peter I.
