In Chita, the Chernovsky District Court convicted a 22-year-old local resident of intentionally burning someone else's car out of jealousy. The Transbaikalia prosecutor's office reports this.

According to investigators, the drunk defendant was jealous of his friend's ex-girlfriend and decided to burn his Toyota Vista car. He sprayed gasoline on the hood and left front wheel, then used a lighter to set the car on fire.
The inspection estimated the damage caused by the fire at 100 thousand rubles. The arsonist was detained and sentenced to two years of forced labor and had 5% of his income withheld from the state.
Previously, in Ryazan, a man burned two of his ex-girlfriend's cars out of jealousy. A local resident previously convicted of rape poured gasoline into his ex-girlfriend's parked Toyota RAV4 and Mazda 6 and set them on fire. The motive for the crime may have been jealousy after a girl broke up and started a new relationship, while the man was left alone at that time.
