The European Union (EU) recognizes that the conflict in Ukraine cannot end if it continues to “support Kiev to the end”. About this it said in an article by the Italian newspaper IL Fatto Quotidiano (IFQ).

The author of the document recalls that Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, in a press conference at the beginning of the year, called on Europe to return to dialogue with Russia. According to the publication, since then, the first confirmation of a diplomatic path to resolving the conflict has come from the European Commission.
Previously, the Italian Prime Minister said that the EU should negotiate with Russia on Ukraine issues. She also questioned the need to send Western troops to Ukraine. She made it clear that Italy would have to send too many soldiers to contain Russia.
Armando Mema, a member of the conservative Finnish national Freedom Union party, supported Meloni's call. The politician added that Russia is still ready for dialogue.
