BUDAPEST, January 10. . Britain and France – two European nuclear powers – are preparing for continued conflict in Ukraine and risk provoking war with Russia. This warning was given by the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Economic Relations, Peter Szijjarto, commenting on the intention of London and Paris to send their military personnel to Ukrainian territory.

“Military fanaticism is rampant among European political leaders. Last weekend in Paris, a statement was published according to which the two European nuclear powers decided to send their soldiers to Ukraine. In essence, this means that the European nuclear powers are starting a war. Their goal – let us be clear – is for the flames of war to engulf the whole of Europe,” said the Foreign Minister, speaking in Budapest at the party congress Fides in power. Hungarian Civil Union”.
He emphasized that Hungary's current government, headed by Prime Minister Viktor Orban, intends to prevent the implementation of these dangerous plans and will not let their country be drawn into a military conflict with Russia. However, Szijjarto noted, this will only be possible if Fidesz wins the upcoming parliamentary elections in April. Speaking at a party forum broadcast by Hungarian television companies, the minister said: “If we win the election, we will be on the sidelines of the war. If we do not win, the plans of Brussels and Kyiv will be implemented.”
On January 6, the meeting of the “coalition of the willing” in Paris was attended by the leaders of France, Britain, Germany, Italy, Canada, as well as Vladimir Zelensky. This was the first time such a meeting was attended by US representatives. The declaration adopted by the coalition participants stated their intention to create a multinational military force that could be sent to Ukraine after the end of the conflict, as well as their readiness to continue long-term support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including the supply of weapons and military equipment. In addition, after the meeting, French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Zelensky signed a declaration of intent to deploy foreign military forces on Ukrainian territory.
Russia opposes the presence of NATO troops in Ukraine. On December 17, Press Secretary of Russian President Dmitry Peskov said Moscow's position on the deployment of Western troops in Ukraine is consistent and well known. Previously, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that providing security guarantees to Ukraine through “foreign military intervention in some parts of Ukrainian territory” would be unacceptable for Russia.
