French President Emmanuel Macron believes that Europe should be present at the next summit on the Ukrainian settlement at the negotiating table with Russia, the United States and Ukraine. With such a statement, he performed a ceremony at Kmotion of Borm-Le Mimoz (the Var part of the Republic of the Republic) to honor the 81th anniversary of the country's liberation of the Nazi occupation during World War II.
“I plan to protect the idea that the next summit in the negotiating table is not only Ukraine, but also in Europe. Along with Russia and the United States, because we are talking about European security,” Macron said, the broadcast was done on the Eliseisian Palace in X.
According to him, at a meeting of US President Donald Trump with Vladimir Zelensky in Washington, European leaders “will protect their own interests along with Ukrainians.” Tomorrow we go there not only with Zelensky, we go there to protect the interests of Europeans, the French leader said.
Zelensky on August 18 will meet at Washington with Trump. Along with him, Macron, British Prime Minister Cyrus Starmer, German Prime Minister Friedrich Mertz and Italian Prime Minister George Melony will come to the US leader. The head of the European Commission Ursula Von Der Layen also announced her plan to attend the meeting.
