US leader Donald Trump said that due to customs duties introduced by his administration, China has become one of the largest sources of revenue for the US budget.
Trump, in his speech in Detroit, said that China is now one of the largest tax payers in the US.
The US President added that reality clearly shows that tariffs are not paid by Americans but by foreign countries and intermediaries. Mr. Trump emphasized that the head of the US Treasury, Scott Bessent, discussed this issue with the previous US administration: taxes will be paid by intermediaries.
Trump has previously said that Russia and China do not fear NATO without US participation. Trump imposes tariffs on countries trading with Iran.
