In December, Hermitage General Director Mikhail Piotrovsky said that by 2026 the museum will present more than 30 exhibitions. Among them is the exhibition “Catherine II”, which will launch a series of exhibitions dedicated to the rulers of the Russian Empire. Another major project will be the exhibition “Icons of Romanov's Letters in the Hermitage Collection”.
Some projects will be dedicated to the Hermitage restoration school and the museum's scientific activities. This is the exhibition “Titian. Latest Masterpiece:” Saint Sebastian “, organized to coincide with the completion of the restoration of the painting and the exhibition “New Holland” – it will display more than 100 paintings, their authorship and history established during scientific research.
The museum has also prepared an extensive regional program for 2026. The first Hermitage Days in Donetsk and Mariupol will be a landmark event.
