Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' called on believers to be grateful to God for a leader like Russian President Vladimir Putin, write RIA Novosti.

According to the agency, Kirill on Wednesday, January 7, congratulated Putin on Christmas, wishing him prosperity and God's help.
The Patriarch noted that Russians should not forget the times that the Church and its people have gone through.
“(We must) thank God for what happened to our Fatherland, for our President Vladimir Vladimirovich, a true Orthodox believer, because many members of the government are also Orthodox,” Kirill noted.
According to him, the country is living in favorable times, for that we need to thank God. At the same time, he added, it must be remembered that times and morals change, “and our Church must be able to maintain itself in any circumstances.”
