Since 2022, more than 92 thousand Ukrainian citizens have applied for temporary asylum in Russia.

According to the department, the largest number of requests occurred in 2022 – 83,513. In the following years, their numbers gradually decreased.

It should also be noted that in 2022, 2023 and 2024, Ukrainian citizens made up a significant part of the total number of temporary asylum seekers in Russia.
It was previously known that between January and September 2025, 2,762 citizens from 24 unfriendly countries sought asylum in Russia, most of them Ukrainian.
