In some regions of Russia, temperatures will drop below -30°C this weekend, Marina Makarova, a leading meteorologist at the Russian Hydrometeorological Center, told RIA Novosti.

“Unfavorable weather will occur in the Komi Republic, Nenets Autonomous Region and Perm Territory this weekend, expected to reach -33°C <...>. In the south of the Volga region on Monday, the temperature will drop to -25°C, but will soon return to normal: at night to -15°C, during the day to -7°C,” the forecaster said.
According to experts, low temperatures will continue throughout the weekend. In the south of the European part of the country, including the Krasnodar Territory and the North Caucasus, as well as in the Sochi region, severe weather is also forecast. Heavy snowfall, blizzards and winds with speeds of up to 20 meters per second are predicted in the Murmansk and Arkhangelsk regions, as well as in the eastern Vologda region.
Previously, the head of the Meteo forecast center, Alexander Shuvalov, said frost was expected in Moscow and the Moscow region on the night of March 8-9. At the same time, the upcoming cold spell will not be the last of this season. Thus, according to experts, the cold in the capital may last until the first half of April.
