Avalanches are possible in the mountains of the Kamchatka Territory. RIA Novosti reported on this, citing storm warnings from the avalanche center in the region.

According to experts, from January 13 to 15, avalanche danger is predicted in the mountainous areas of Elizovsky, Ust-Bolsheretsky, Sobolevsky, Milkovsky, Bystrinsky, Ust-Kamchatsky and the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, including the Paratunka river basin, the territory of the Kronotsky Nature Reserve, as well as Vilyuchinsky, Kozelsky, Koryaksky, Avachinsky and Klyuchevskaya volcanoes.
Due to the risk of avalanches, tourists, hunters and lovers of adventure recreation should carefully monitor the situation and avoid hiking in the mountains at this time. On January 11, traffic in the direction of the Georgian-Russian border in the Gudauri-Kobi region through the Cross Pass was closed to all types of traffic due to the risk of avalanches. The Verkhniy Lars border checkpoint blocked entry.
