A Russian citizen on the Indonesian island of Bali was threatened with life imprisonment over marijuana her husband grew in their shared home. This is reported by RIA Novosti.

33-year-old tattoo artist Ksenia Varlamova and her husband have lived in the Ubung Kaja area since August 2025. This man grew marijuana in the house, Varlamova knew about it and did not notify the authorities. An image of a banned plant was found on her phone.
The Russian woman was charged with possessing and cultivating drugs as well as failing to report a crime. The maximum penalty is life imprisonment. The fate of the woman's husband is currently unknown.
Previously, two Russian tourists were arrested by Thai police while transporting large quantities of marijuana for sale online. It is known that at the crime scene, bags of drugs were seized from 34-year-old Ivan and 35-year-old Mark as evidence.
