MOSCOW, December 23. /TASS/. According to the results of the past 24 hours, Yakutia once again became the coldest place on the planet, two weather stations recorded a temperature of minus 52 degrees. This was reported to TASS by the Russian Federal Hydrometeorological Center.
The agency's interlocutor said: “As a result, in the past 24 hours, the air temperature in the village of Ytyk-Kel as well as at the Iema weather station has dropped to minus 52 degrees and this is the lowest temperature on the planet in the past 24 hours.” Also in the top 3 in the world in terms of cold is the indicator from the Yakut Khabardino weather station, where frost hardened to minus 50.9 degrees.
At the same time, the world's top 3 hottest weather in the past 24 hours is shared between Australia and Paraguay. In particular, the first and second places in this index belong to Australian Telfer and Port Hedland – the air there warms by 40.8 and 40.2 degrees, respectively. In Paraguay's Mariscal Estigarribia, the thermometer rose to 38.4 degrees above zero.
As the Russian Federation Hydrometeorological Center recalls, the weather in Moscow has also set records for coldness since the beginning of winter – last night became the coldest in the capital for the entire calendar season: frost at the city's main weather station was as hard as 10.7 degrees. Last night was one of the coldest nights since the beginning of winter in the Moscow region, where the lowest temperature was recorded in Dmitrov – minus 13.3 degrees.
