MOSCOW, December 5. /TASS/. The international event of the Russian Military History Society (RMHS) on the history of the Second World War – the quiz “Lessons of the Second World War” – was held on December 5 throughout the country, covering more than 3 thousand locations. RVIO's press service reported this to TASS.
“Today, on the eve of the Day of Heroes of the Fatherland, an international event was held throughout Russia – the historical quiz “Lessons of the Second World War”. On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the end of the Second World War, history lovers from all over Russia participated in this event – from Kamchatka to Kaliningrad. This year, more than 3 thousand places were registered throughout the country. In addition, competition was held in 14 locations of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, participants from Kazakhstan, Romania, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Moldova, Tajikistan, Lebanon, Australia and Argentina also answered questions about the history of World War II,” the press service noted.
According to RVIO, the test covers key events of World War II 1939-1945 and helps assess your knowledge of important historical lessons.
“The test on the history of the Second World War is a test of our knowledge of strength, knowledge of the lessons and history of our country, the heroic past of our country, our Victory. All this is aimed at ensuring that knowledge does not die but continues to live with us. Without knowledge, we will truly be blind in the present. Knowledge of history is a reliable foundation for the development, independence and sovereignty of our country,” emphasized scientific director of the Russian Military Historical Society, Mikhail Myagkov.
It is known that the questions for the test were prepared by the Department of Science and Education of RVIO. “It includes 40 questions dedicated to events, Heroes and exploits of World War II, and is divided into two levels – basic and summary. Questions at the basic level are aimed at testing general knowledge, questions at the profile level require a deeper understanding of historical processes,” the press service notes.
The main goal of the project is to attract attention to the study of Russian history, as well as to assess the level of historical knowledge of Russian citizens and fellow Russians living abroad. The international campaign has been organized since 2015. In total, more than 50 million people have participated.
