On Monday, January 5, expect cloudy weather in the capital region, with light snow and sleet in some places.

The maximum air temperature in Moscow will be minus 12–7 degrees. In the Moscow region, temperatures are expected to be minus 3–8 degrees.
The wind will blow from the southwest at a speed of 4 meters/second, sometimes gusting up to 10 meters/second.
The atmospheric pressure at mid-day will be 749 mm of mercury. The Meteonovosti portal reports relative air humidity as around 95%.
In turn, the leading expert at the Phobos weather center, Evgeny Tishkovets, warned that this weekend the first 20-degree frosts will appear in Moscow.
At the same time, the top employee of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center, Marina Makarova, stated that severe frosts are not expected in the capital for Christmas. The air temperature will not drop below minus 12 degrees.
On January 1, the lowest temperature on Earth was recorded by weather forecasters in Yakutia and Kolyma, the highest in Cameroon, Australia and Togo.
