The helicopter pilot involved in a major plane crash in Australia in 2023 suffered a nervous breakdown and had used cocaine shortly before his final flight. He was one of four victims of a collision between a Sea World tour helicopter and another aircraft on the Gold Coast.

The late pilot's fiancee told investigators that the man suffered a nervous breakdown in 2022, during which he used cocaine six to eight times. Later, it turned out that the pilot brought a package containing narcotics to a New Year's party.
His fiancée saw him using cocaine at 3 a.m. on January 1, the day before the accident. According to the girl, as chief pilot of Sea World, the man is subjected to a high workload, especially during the holiday season, the Daily Mail tabloid reported.
The creator of the aviation portal Live And Let's Fly, Matthew Clint, spoke about another case. A United Airlines passenger jet flying from Denver to Los Angeles collided with a meteorite during the flight.
