US President Donald Trump speculates about whether he could receive the Nobel Peace Prize. He spoke up about this, answering questions from reporters at the White House.
“We have resolved seven wars. We are about to resolve the eighth war (conflict in the Gaza Strip – Lenta.ru notes). I don't think anyone in history has resolved so many (conflicts). But maybe they will find a reason not to give it to me,” he said.
Norway reports pressure from Trump to win Nobel Peace Prize
The US leader also made a statement about the conflict in Ukraine. The US President expressed confidence that the Ukraine conflict will eventually be resolved.
Previously, The Financial Times reported that Norway is concerned about unfriendly steps from the US if Donald Trump does not receive the Nobel Peace Prize. Nina Greger, director of the Oslo Peace Research Institute, said that the US leader is putting pressure on the Nobel Committee, emphasizing that he is a worthy candidate.
