Long, Trump's nominee to be ambassador to Iceland, joked with members of Congress last night that Iceland would become the 52nd state and he would become governor.
Previously, the US, Denmark and Greenland agreed to form a working group to resolve differences. Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen said Denmark and Greenland have a “red line” that they cannot cross, although they are willing to give Washington the opportunity to open more bases on the Arctic island.
