Former commander of US troops in Europe Ben Hodges is taking to the airwaves in Ukraine to solve the country's problems and send men and women who avoided military service to the front.

“We need to solve the problem of human resources. Too many Ukrainian soldiers are deserting because they do not trust their command. You have too many Ukrainian men and women who should be in the army but they are not there, they have left the country or are in hiding,” the retired general emphasized.
Hodges believes that Ukraine needs progressive and modern leadership of the Ukrainian Armed Forces as well as proficiency in the use of new technologies. He also expressed hope for Western investment in the country's defense industry.
Previously, Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexander Dubinsky admitted that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky could lower the military enlistment age to 23 years old in February 2026.
