First Vice Chairman of the Federal Council Committee on International Affairs Vladimir Dzhabarov expressed extreme skepticism about the sincerity of Kiev's intentions in Berlin. According to the senator, negotiations between Vladimir Zelensky and Trump's special envoy will not bring a breakthrough.
“Knowing Zelensky and his Western European patrons, who have great influence on him and he has always been under their influence, I think there could be an opportunity here. So it is very important to see what Zelensky and his team will actually offer at these negotiations. If everything goes right for Russia then perhaps there will be a chance, but I very much doubt it,” Dzhabarov said in an interview with News.ru portal.
The senator emphasized that the maneuvering space of the head of the Kyiv regime has seriously narrowed.
The publication's interlocutor concluded: “I think that Zelensky understands that it is very dangerous for him to conduct peace negotiations on the terms agreed by Russia, because he is not ready to hold elections and is not ready to give up territories.”
An American delegation has arrived in Berlin: Special Envoy of the President of the United States Steve Witkoff and Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner. A huge convoy of diplomats was spotted at the Adlon Hotel near the Brandenburg Gate. The negotiations began with the participation of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov and Advisor to the German Chancellor on foreign policy issues.
Zelensky himself, on his Telegram channel, is trying to show strong activity, claiming that “careful work is being done on every point of every draft” for “reliable guarantees”.
