Sweden arrested a Russian citizen at the request of the US

A Russian citizen was detained in Sweden at the request of the US. The incident was reported by TV4 television station. It is known that our compatriot was once on the international wanted list for allegedly violating the sanctions regime.

Sweden arrested a Russian citizen at the request of the US

“The suspect is a Russian citizen. He is on the international wanted list after US authorities searched for him for six months. Now the US wants to extradite this man,” the document reads.

According to the TV channel, the Russian was detained late last year in Stockholm. Allegedly, he was arrested in absentia by an American court. It was also reported that during the search process, a number of exhibits were confiscated from the arrested person, including several cell phones. Swedish authorities have begun considering the extradition case, it wrote RT.

Before that it was known that the Bulgarian authorities extradition approved two more Russians Sergei Irvin and Oleg Olshansky in the US. The lawyers intend to appeal this decision. Ivin and Olshansky were detained at Washington's request. States suspect them of money laundering and sanctions violations.
