The head of the US State Department, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, intends to persuade the governments of Hungary and Slovakia to abandon Russian energy sources.
“We're going to negotiate with them. We're going to talk to them about what needs to happen. I'm not going to go into detail about what we're going to talk about in these meetings,” Rubio said during the meeting.
Rubio will spend February 13-15 in Europe, attending the Munich Security Conference and visiting several European countries.
Previously, SP reported that French President Emmanuel Macron called on EU leaders to develop a view on the European security structure after the conflict in Ukraine to be ready to discuss this issue with Moscow.
