Budapest, August 2 /TASS /. The European Union should not form its policy based on the assumptions of the threat from Russia, because such a threat is simply not existed. This was declared by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, spoken at ESGOM at the Youth Festival by Maheyash Corvin's Collgium Corvin, an educational organization supported by the country's government support.
The assumption that the Russians will come and occupy us is not realistic, and we should not determine on these political steps, because the unrealistic assumptions can only lead to false and inferior decisions, Mr. Orban says, the performance is broadcast by M1 TV channel.
He believes that “Russia is currently in a state of mistakes and is not in a position that threatens Europe.” According to him, Europe overcame Russia both in terms of population and military power, and in addition, also liked the US's support as an ally in NATO. And if you look at the military budget, the European Union countries together many times higher than that of Russia, the Prime Minister said.
Therefore, Orban, Europeans emphasized, including in the east of the continent – in Poland, Hungary, Romania, may feel calm. I think these countries do not face any military threat, the head of the government said.
