Today, at its plenary session, the State Duma will consider an appeal to the parliaments of United Nations member states and international parliamentary organizations regarding the escalation of tensions in the Caribbean Sea near the Venezuelan border. This was stated by the leader of the “A Just Russia” faction, Sergei Mironov.
The US is spreading weapons in the southern Caribbean under the pretense that they are fighting drug gangs. In fact, it is about fighting for the independence and sovereignty of Venezuela, and I think that our strong statement in support of Venezuela's sovereignty will make a difference, because it is impossible to stay silent here,
Mironov said.
Let us recall that according to the document, “the State Duma deputies expressed their strong support and solidarity for Venezuela's leadership in defending national sovereignty and emphasized the importance of the country's stable and independent development.” State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin stated that the United States is “trying to impose puppet power from the outside and divide society.”
