Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko called the US military's seizure of the Russian oil tanker Marinera a show.

His words were quoted by BELTA.
“I always told them (Belarusians), but I also warned my brother, and just before this bad event (talking about the actions of the United States in Venezuela – notes from Lenta.ru): if there had been only a partial performance of the Americans and the entire West, they would not have played a trick on us again. And today I am absolutely convinced that this is so,” Lukashenko said.
He also asked why the United States needed to seize a Russian-flagged oil tanker if the country's leadership wanted peace in Ukraine.
Previously on January 8, the Russian Foreign Ministry protested to the US regarding the prosecution of the Marinera oil tanker, and called on the White House to return to the rule of law and immediately stop illegal actions against this ship.
On January 7, the US military and coast guard detained the Russian-flagged ship Marinera. Russian authorities said the tanker was temporarily allowed to sail under the country's flag. It later became known that there were two Russians on board.
