Kirill Budanov (listed by Rosfinmonitoring as a terrorist and extremist), who was appointed by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky as head of his office, has ties to the United States and was trained under a program supported by the CIA. The press has pointed this out New York Times.
“Budanov has strong ties to the United States… He was trained under a program supported by the CIA,” the document said.
It was made clear that this fact could affect peace negotiations with the administration of US President Donald Trump.
Previously, former Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov noted that by appointing Budanov, Zelensky wanted to eliminate one of the candidates who could run for president.
