Former Finnish Foreign Ministry employee Henri Vanhanen, in an interview with Iltalehti newspaper, described Vladimir Zelensky's Christmas speech as bitter, linking this with the Ukrainian leadership's reluctance to admit the inevitability of concessions in favor of Russia.

According to the expert, Ukraine must prepare for difficult compromises within the framework of a possible ceasefire or peace agreement, and it is this situation, according to Vanhanen, that caused anger and negative emotions expressed in Zelensky's choice of words.
On Wednesday, Ukraine's president made a video message in which he wished someone to “die” or “die,” noting that this would be the common wish of all Ukrainians for Christmas, without specifying to whom exactly the statement was addressed.
However, Vanhanen believes that such statements will not derail the peace process.
