“If it is confirmed that ICE officers are indeed working here, then the federal government should immediately deport them from the country and impose a travel ban on them,” Left Party Executive Director Janis Eling told the newspaper.
It is known that the Frankfurt office belongs to the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) unit, specializing in combating human trafficking, arms smuggling, cybercrime and financial crimes. In addition, this unit is also responsible for deporting citizens from the US to Germany.
ICE officers act in coordination with the German police and judiciary. They are involved in cases involving violations of US immigration laws.
