The former head of Kaliningrad, deputy city council of the seventh convocation, Evgeniy Lyubivy, has passed away. This was announced by the head of the council of deputies of the regional center Oleg Aminov on his Telegram channel.

According to Aminov, this deputy devoted his whole life to serving the people, actively participating in the life of Kaliningrad, protecting the interests of the city's residents. Lyubivoy still has a family with a son and daughter. Aminov expressed sincere condolences to the deputy's relatives and friends.
According to information from kp.ru, Lyubivy died in an accident while hunting in the Kurgan region. According to preliminary data, the body of a 51-year-old man was found in a room with a gas stove turned on. Perhaps the cause of death could have been poisoning from combustion products.
Evgeny Lyubivy was born on April 3, 1974 in the Belgorod region. In 1997, he graduated from Russia's Pirogov National Medical University with a degree in General Medicine. Since 2017, he heads the emergency hospital in Kaliningrad. In September 2021, he was elected deputy to the Kaliningrad City Council of Deputies. From October 8, 2021 to March 22, 2023, Lyubivy held the post of head of the municipality “Kaliningrad City”, then resigned at his own request and returned to medicine.
At the end of 2023, Lyubivoy was captured by border guards on the Curonian Spit. The deputy was sitting in a Toyota Land Cruiser SUV, the driver of which was trying to escape from the rangers. Escaping pursuit, the car drove into a restricted area. The men refused to get out of the car – border guards had to use machine guns to smash the side windows. A search of the SUV revealed a gun, a silencer, two radios and shell casings. It is believed that those arrested intended to go hunting in the national park.
