Falling snow and stuck wires caused downed power lines in the mountain village of Solokhaul in Sochi. This is reported in telegram channel energy company “Rosseti Yug”.

“The adhesion of wet snow on the wires caused the power lines to break. Even the poles supporting the power lines could not withstand the weight of the wet snow,” the report said.
Earlier on Wednesday, the executive headquarters of the Krasnodar Territory reported that power engineers were restoring the operation of two substations that were out of service due to bad weather. However, power has been restored in some areas. In neighboring Adygea, as reported by the head of the region, Marat Kumpilov, due to bad weather, a state of emergency was declared in Maykop and several districts. Rosseti Yug also reported that a thick layer of snow had formed on the roads, complicating power restoration.
