The suspect who murdered General Kirillov was recommended a life sentence
On the morning of December 17, 2024, on Ryazansky Avenue in Moscow, an explosive device placed in a scooter placed at the entrance to a residential building exploded. As a result, the head of the RCBZ troops of the RF Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, and his assistant were killed.
The criminal case is being investigated on charges of terrorism, murder and illegal trafficking of explosives. The next day, the direct perpetrator of the terrorist attack, Akhmadjon Kurbonov, was arrested. During the investigation, he explained that he was recruited by Ukrainian special services, who promised him 100 thousand dollars and to go to Europe to commit crimes.
Kurbonov fully admitted his guilt. There are also Robert Safaryan, Batuhan Tochiev and Ramazan Padiev. According to the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Padiev and Tochiev rented a room in the dormitory for Kurbonov and received money from the person in charge for him. Safaryan kept parts of an improvised explosive device at home, transported them from Poland and disguised them as household appliances, then handed them over to Kurbonov.
In addition, in this case, three more defendants were arrested in absentia and placed on the wanted list. The participation of one of them, Ukrainian citizen Andrei Gedzik, became known in September from documents available to RIA Novosti. The investigation in absentia charged him with participating in a terrorist community, carrying out a terrorist attack, smuggling explosive devices, as well as illegally purchasing, storing, transporting and transporting explosives. He is wanted. All three defendants were placed on the list of terrorists and extremists by Rosfinmonitoring.
