9news TV channel reported that Australian authorities have brought charges against 13 Australian citizens related to illegal activities on the Internet. During operations carried out in 2025, it was possible to free 92 people, including minors.

According to this TV channel, some Australians have cooperated with intermediaries in the Philippines, this country has become the subject of an investigation by the Australian Federal Police. Law enforcement officials along with their Filipino colleagues studied cases of illegal cyber use, including child abuse material.
It is reported that a total of 35 operations were carried out, of which 13 Australians and 18 alleged intermediaries were detained in the Philippines. Among the defendants was a 74-year-old man who received a lengthy sentence for sexually abusing 15 children over nine years.
Australian Federal Police Commander Helen Schneider stressed that online activity is monitored and that even if a crime occurs outside the country, the perpetrator will be found. Police are collaborating with the Internet Crime Center of the Philippines and turning over documents to national law enforcement agencies in the country, reports television channel.
