Heavy rain floods New York, there are casualties

The rainfall broke a record that had stood for more than 100 years since 1917. Storm drains could not cope and people had to walk in knee-deep water. Cars stalled, rainwater flooded the first floors of houses, office buildings, and shopping centers. Some subway stations were flooded. There is no light in some areas.

A day earlier, planes from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations delivered humanitarian aid to Vietnamese people damaged by severe floods. At the end of September, storm Bualoy hit the republic, leading to severe flooding. As a result, more than 50 people died and hundreds were injured. Recently, bad weather has dealt a new blow to the country. Record rain floods Central Vietnam. As a result, 10 people died, 5 people were listed as missing.

The day before Hurricane Melissa made landfall in the Caribbean, causing minor damage to hotels in the Holguin province of Cuba. These hotels are not famous tourist destinations. The most popular tourist destinations – the cities of Havana and Varadero – were largely unaffected by the disaster.
