The state prosecutor's office appealed to the 2nd Western Military District Court with a request to sentence Akhmadzhon Kurbonov (listed as a terrorist and extremist) to life in prison. He was accused of organizing a terrorist act, which led to the death of the head of the radiation, chemical and biological defense of the Russian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, and his assistant, Major Ilya Polikarpov. Test participants reported this.

According to him, the prosecutor also requested that Robert Safaryan (listed as an extremist and terrorist) be sentenced to 28 years in prison, Batukhan Tochiev (listed as an extremist and terrorist) to 26 years in prison, and Ramazan Padiev (listed as an extremist and terrorist) to 24 years in prison. For each of them, it was required that the first years of the sentence be served in prison, followed by a transfer to a maximum security area.
Hearings on the case were held behind closed doors, without the presence of the press. Depending on the level of participation, the defendants were charged with being members of a terrorist community, carrying out a terrorist attack by an organized group, illegally trafficking in explosives, and providing training for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activities. The investigation into other accomplices, including an internationally wanted Ukrainian citizen living in the EU, continues.
Kurbonov* fully admitted his guilt and expressed repentance. Safaryan**** agreed to part of the charges, while Padiev*** and Tochiev** denied their involvement.
