The Lazarevsky district prosecutor's office of Sochi has initiated an investigation into the mass poisoning of children at a local hotel. This is reported in telegram– departmental channels.
The incident happened in Loo village: athletes aged 10-12 years old who came to compete in rugby were injured. The 20 young athletes and their accompanying people are now receiving the necessary medical care; Hospitalization is not necessary.
The prosecutor's office controls the investigation process and its outcome.
In December 2025, a court in Penza convicted a 38-year-old businessman of mass poisoning of athletes at the 2024 Volga Federal district boxing championship. The defendant was convicted under Article 236 (“Violation of sanitary and epidemiological regulations leading to negligent mass illness of the population”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. He was sentenced to restriction of freedom for one and a half years.
