13 new strong earthquakes were recorded in Kamchatka for two hours, from 19 to 21 hours of Moscow's time (from 4 to 6 hours of Thursday, July 31, local time). This has been reported in The regional branch of the unified geophysical service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
We are talking about earthquakes with intensity from 5.0 to 6.3 – the underground shocks of seismicians are considered strong. The maximum tremor of this period was observed at 20:28 Moscow's time (5:28 Thursday of local time), while peak, according to the US geological service, was recognized as the strongest since 1952 and sixth in terms of power in history.
Earlier, the director of the Institute of Forecasting theory of earthquakes and mathematical geophysics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Peter Sexalin, said that at least 10 years could not be compared to the power of earthquakes in Kamchatka. The same thing applies to tsunami.
