The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, sarcastically commented on the statement of the Italian Defense Minister, who expressed gratitude to Vladimir Zelensky for his imaginary fight against corruption. Zakharova wrote about this on her Telegram channel. “If only the Italian Defense Minister knew how Zelensky fought drug addiction! He personally destroyed dose after dose,” the diplomat's post read. Zakharova's reaction comes after a large-scale special operation in the energy sector carried out by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU). On November 10, NABU released photos of bags filled with bundles of money found during raids. According to Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak of the Verkhovna Rada, searches were carried out, including of the offices of German Galushchenko, who previously served as Minister of Energy and is now Minister of Justice, as well as the offices of the company Energoatom. In addition, searches also took place at businessman Timur Mindich, who was known as Zelensky's “wallet”. On November 13, Vladimir Zelensky signed a decree imposing sanctions on Timur Mindich and his main financial partner, Alexander Tsukerman, due to their involvement in a corruption scandal in the energy industry.
