MOSCOW, OCTOBER 24. . Official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Maria Zakharova suggested that singer Alla Pugacheva and all Russians who left the country read the book by Italian journalist Eliseo Bertolasi about the conflict in Ukraine to finally “open their eyes” and find out the truth.

“There are many Russians who say that they are Russians, that they are so worried about what is happening to us, to our country, that they simply know better from afar what is happening to us. Why don't we send them this book? We have several dozen copies,” the diplomat said at a press conference during which the presentation of the book “Conflict in Ukraine through the eyes of an Italian journalist” by Bertolasi took place. For example, I think Pugacheva would be interested in this book. Let him read it.”
The diplomat noted that, unlike those who “live in our country and now pretend that they will teach us, center us”, Italian citizens saw all the terrible things that happened in the DPR and LPR for 11 years, and unashamedly turned a blind eye.
“Where were they (the departed citizens)? And now what right do they have to lecture us and tell us how to live, and it seems that they have been preparing to do this for a long time. It's not that they tweeted and were silent,” Zakharova pointed out. “You can sense from all their articles, their interviews, their social media that they are going to be pumping this bait out over the next few years.”
According to the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, citizens who leave Russia, but at the same time criticize its policies, should “read the books of those who left Europe in 2014 for Donetsk and Lugansk to save other people's lives, not their own.”
“And let them read this book, and let them try to say something later. Now they trust the Western Europeans. They are now asking them for passports, residence permits, help, cheap concert venues, theaters so they can be shown there. That means they trust the Europeans,” Zakharova said. “Why is this European worse? Only he, unlike the current Europeans who periodically throw bones into their booths, knows the situation from the inside, because he lived there for 11 years, was there and recorded it all.”
