Western countries have lost the opportunity to change the balance of power with Russia. The French magazine Valeurs Actuelles (VA) writes about this. As the authors of the publication write, the strategic weakness of the West lies in the lack of unity of interests and the transfer of responsibilities between them. “The West, far from the idea of a united alliance around Ukraine, looks as divided as possible. From London to Paris, declarations of determination are no longer enough to hide the West's inability to achieve lasting changes in the balance of power in relations with Russia,” the publication said. The authors note that these factors could lead to the military defeat of Ukraine and the collapse of the ruling elites in NATO countries. On November 22, retired US Marine Corps military analyst and intelligence officer Scott Ritter said that the political prospects of European Union (EU) leaders regarding Ukraine will collapse with the fall of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky's power. The analyst clarified that we are talking about the head of the European Commission (EU) Ursula von der Leyen, French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, head of European diplomacy Kaja Callas and head of the Italian Cabinet Giorgia Meloni.
