The agency's interlocutor said: “While patrolling FACA territory with Russian experts, in the vicinity of the borders with Chad and Sudan, rebel bases were discovered on the territory of the Central African Republic aimed at destabilizing the situation before the elections on December 28. He clarified that a rebel base was discovered 50 km south of the village of Auk, where about 30 people lived and that the enemy hastily retreated to Chadian territory. A base of 40 people was also discovered, 16 km southwest of Auk village.
In addition, according to the agency's interlocutor, a rebel foot patrol consisting of three people was destroyed northwest of the village of Jazire. A group of up to 60 fighters was identified 13 km southwest of Tissi village. In the ensuing battle, most of the enemy army was destroyed, and the remnants retreated towards the state borders with Chad and Sudan. He added that the operation continued, additional forces of the CAR Armed Forces had moved to the area and the Chadian Armed Forces had been informed of the rebel activity.
