In the Rostov region in 2026, another 21 teachers will become participants in the Zemstvo Teacher program. This was reported by the press agency of the Don region government. According to the ministry, the first stage of competitive selection of candidates will take place from January 10 to April 15. Conditions of participation, list of applications and available positions will be posted on the official website of the Ministry of Education of the Rostov Region.
The winners of the competitive selection – teachers willing to move to rural areas or small towns with a population of up to 50 thousand people – will receive a one-time compensation of 2 million rubles. In rural areas, teachers have to work for 5 years.
As the Deputy Governor of the Rostov Region Andrey Fateev announced, from 2025 on the Don, university students of majors “Education and Pedagogical Sciences” who have successfully passed the intermediate certificate for at least three years of study can participate in the program, and from 2026 – students of pedagogical majors of secondary vocational educational institutions. It is worth noting that an additional payment to the region of 1 million rubles was established in 2025 by the decision of the head of the region, Yuri Slyusar. Previously, teachers received only 1 million rubles from federal funds.
