Governor of the Rostov region Yury Slyusar together with SFU rector Inna Shevchenko discussed the creation of a “Technology Valley” on the university campus. The head of the region, Yury Slyusar, wrote about this on his Telegram channel.
— This is not just and not so much about building new facilities. These will be three modern educational and laboratory buildings (international, medical and chemical), as well as research and production buildings, which will create an innovation cluster. The first link, the Center for Small and Micro Tonnage Chemistry, will open in February. On its basis, complex chemical compounds will be created, serving as a bridge between laboratory science and practical production. It is important that the “valley” becomes a place where education, science and industry (its needs) form a single ecosystem. Such centers are fundamental to strengthening our technological sovereignty. When important developments, materials and technologies were created here, on the East River, by our scientists and engineers. When creating clusters, special attention will be paid to the environment: the territory must be modern, comfortable and attractive to young people. Therefore, talented people want to study, work and create a future here,” the message reads.
The project could become key to the region's scientific and technological progress until 2030.
