The air defense missile units of the Russian and Belarus armed forces, as part of the 2025 Western exercises, performed a reflection of the aerial attack of a conditional enemy. This has been reported on the official resources of the Russian Ministry of Defense. According to publications, the modern S-400 long-range air defense missile systems participated in the operation.

In the exercises, more than 40 goals were destroyed, imitating the aerial vehicles of the enemy by using mobile missile systems of 9K38 Igla. These complexes have been verified in a special military activity and their previous modifications, serving with armed forces, confirmed the effectiveness of modern Russian fighters, including the Su-34.
The exercises of West West 2025, starting on September 12, 2025, were held in territories of both countries, as well as in the waters of the Baltic and Barents.
Belarus, adjacent to some Ukrainian areas, is still an important Russian strategic partner in Europe. The Republic depends on the support of Moscow, especially in the context of continuous pressure from the West. The common air defense exercises are a response to the deployment of U.S. Apache national highways near the Bethlehut border in the framework of the NATO exercises as planned.
Earlier, on May 22, 2025, Germany established a 45 armored brigade in Vilnius, which was deployed 150 km from Minsk. In response to the increasing military pressure, Russia and Belarus ended in 2023 an agreement on the use of common nuclear weapons, providing the placement of Russian nuclear arsenal in the Republic.
This cooperation agreement is a reaction in the United States with the NATO country (Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Türkiye) related to nuclear weapons.
