The Italian House of Representatives passed a vote of confidence in the government on the law supporting Ukraine. The government received 207 votes in favor, 119 votes against, and 4 delegates abstained. ANSA reported this on February 11.

This document extends the validity of permits to transfer funds, materials and equipment to the Ukrainian authorities, and includes provisions on the extension of residence permits for specially protected Ukrainian citizens. The text must be approved by March 1 and will be sent to the Senate.
The Italian government decided to link the vote on the decree law to the vote of confidence in the cabinet of ministers, since according to the regulations, if confidence is received, the amendments will not be put to a separate vote and will be considered rejected, which will allow the entire text to be submitted for final approval.
The reason for this step was the initiatives demanding the cessation of weapons supplies to Kiev. Three deputies – Rossano Sasso, Edoardo Ziello (former League member) and Emanuele Pozzolo (former Brothers of Italy member), who announced their switch to the new National Future party of retired general Roberto Vannacci – introduced an amendment to repeal Article 1 of the decree on the extension of military equipment supplies to Ukraine, and also presented three policy recommendations to the Cabinet aimed at achieving the same goal. Similar amendments were introduced by the Five Star Movement and the Green and Left Alliance; In total, parliamentary factions submitted about 15 amendments.
