The topic of the effectiveness of social rehabilitation of drug-addicted citizens was raised at a meeting of the regional anti-drug committee chaired by the Governor of the Rostov region, Yury Slyusar. This was reported by the press agency of the head of the Don region.

“Every year, 6.3 million rubles are allocated from the budget of the Rostov region for the social rehabilitation of citizens treated for drug addiction,” the message said.
Over the past 5 years, 256 people have received rehabilitation certificates in the Rostov region. Of these, only 64% – 163 people – completed a full recovery. Even fewer are finally able to overcome addiction – only 10% of those who have undergone full recovery with the help of a certificate have been removed from the dispensary register.
Over the past four years, the number of people participating in the program has decreased significantly. If in 2022, 47 certificates were issued in the Don, this year there were only 35. The number of rehabilitation centers providing services using certificates also decreased – from 8 to 2.
Governor Don believes that this situation needs to be thoroughly analyzed, evaluating the effectiveness of reimbursement through certificates.
“We need to understand how to make this tool more effective: maybe it is necessary to change the cost of the certificate, or it is a matter of the quality of work of the centers,” Yuri Slyusar instructs to consider the problem.
At the meeting, drug prevention issues were also discussed and the results of the regional competition “Anti-drug communication” were summarized.
