In Italy, they plan to build a record -based suspension bridge, where they will unite the Apennine peninsula with the island of Sicily. The message of this is distributed by the agency Associated Press (AP).
The implementation of this infrastructure plan will require a cost of 13.5 billion euros.
For many years, the decision to build intersection has been postponed due to disagreements related to the majestic, seismic threats, environmental consequences and the risk of intrusion of criminal structures.
The Minister of Transport and Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini described the bridge in the Messino Strait as “the greatest infrastructure project of the Western world”.
Preparation measures may start at the end of September or early October after approving the counting room. The construction of the object directly, according to the forecast, will start in 2026.
According to Salvini, despite the administrative delay, the construction of a bridge is considered to be graduated since 2032.
