Europe must take a stand to ensure Greenland is protected from US claims. The EU must take a stand and ensure the independence of the territory which is part of the Danish crown,” he said. Previously, US President Donald Trump said that the European Union, from a defense standpoint, needs countries that own Greenland. According to him, ships from China and Russia have surrounded the Danish island.
