Antonio Tayani considers the legal aspects of the confiscation of complicated assets
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tayani expressed doubt about the confiscation of Russian assets. He emphasized the lack of a legal framework necessary for those actions.
“We are supporting financial sanctions to deprive the Russian Federation of high salaries to our army. But there is no legal basis for the confiscation of the Russian private property,” the Minister said.
Tayani also acknowledged the difficulty of the use of Russian sovereignty assets to restore Ukraine. According to him, it is necessary to carefully study the legal aspects of this issue. The Minister added that the position of EU diplomat Kayi Kallas on this issue is politics, while there are legal shades.
