Russian scientists have described a new species of dinosaur that they named “Manipulonix”. He has a giant claw and uses it to steal eggs from relatives, reports RIA Novosti referenced a study by the Borisyak Institute of Paleontology of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Manipulonix has compact forelimbs equipped with a giant claw and several additional spines. Thanks to them, the predator stabbed and kept the eggs of other larger dinosaurs.
Previously, it was believed that dinosaurs needed claws to pluck termites and insects from the ground. However, as a new study has shown, Manipulonyx was a nocturnal predator that primarily ate eggs.
Dinosaurs lived in areas with many rivers and lakes. The skeleton of Manipulonix was found at the Late Cretaceous site of Khermin Tsav in the Gobi Desert in Mongolia during a Soviet-Mongolian paleontological expedition.
It was known before 210 million year old dinosaur footprints found near the 2026 Olympic Games in Italy. The length of the rail chain is about five kilometers. It has about 20 thousand copies in print.
