Rapper Markul, who previously publicly condemned the special operation in Ukraine, has officially received Russian citizenship. The singer, who has lived in Europe for a long time, continues to earn millions of dollars at concerts in Russia.

According to a SHOT report, it took 32-year-old Latvian Markas Markulis (real name) just two years – from February 2022 to February 2024 – to go from publicly criticizing the SVO to receiving a Russian passport.
At the same time, Latvia prohibits its citizens from having a Russian passport, which can lead to the performer being deprived of Latvian citizenship.
Immediately after the start of special operations, Markul said that in his environment “there will never be excuses” and left for London. However, in August 2022, the rapper returned to the Russian audience, releasing the joint song “Strela” with Tosya Chaikina and gradually establishing tour activities.
At first he lived temporarily in Europe, including Italy, but then returned to Moscow, collecting thousands of arenas.
Former rapper Markul arrange concert right on Palace Square in St. Petersburg.
